GOC582344-CT-BAG-REPOST - Contractor - Vacuum System Replacement

Statement of Work/Overview:Scope of Work includes but are not limited to the following:
This project encompasses replacing the existing vacuum pumps located in the basement and first floor hallway of 2301 Midland Ave, with new units. This includes the removal and decommissioning of the old pumps, disconnection from the vacuum piping network, removal/decommissioning of the storage tanks in the basement and associated electrical work.
The DSS report identified lead containing paint on the storage tanks, support structure, and piping located in the basement. Complete abatement work per specs.
Followed by the installation of new vacuum pumps, connection to the existing vacuum piping network, and associated electrical work. The BAS controls will need to be extended to both vacuum pumps providing start/stop and status controls. Make good all areas impacted by construction. Ensure all work complies with latest applicable Code (National), Safety Acts & ESA/TSSA regulations.
Contractor is to ensure that vacuum pump is still operational, when tank is removed from the existing vacuum pump system. This will give enough space to install the new vacuum package prior to disconnecting the existing vacuum pump. The filter before the pump will need to be monitored for liquid accumulation. There will still be a shutdown required to tie in the new pipe, but this should be limited to a couple of hours. Contractor to provide minimum of 2 weeks’ notice for any shutdown.
GC to ensure compliance with sequence of work as indicated in the tender drawings.
GC to ensure vacuum system (double-type/with back up) is operational the next day, after working on the system the day/night before. For the single-type with no back up, Contractor is only allowed to work on this during the weekend, from Friday after 5 pm until Monday at 6 am to ensure system is operational by Monday.
GC to ensure that at least one (1) vacuum pump is operational in mechanical room. Work can be done regular hours except for noisy work.
As for the booster pump in the corridor, work can only be done after hours and must be operational the next day.
No Work should commence until new vacuum system is delivered on site. Delivery of materials/equipment at site is only allowed after hours and or weekend. Ensure shop drawings are issued for review, without delay after project is awarded.
Contractor to include a minimum of 2-hour training at site with BGIS operations & Health Canada. All work to be completed only after hours and or weekends. Scanning and Delivery of materials should only be after hours and or on weekends.
