PWG293378 - Parkade Traffic Topping and Membranes

In December 2010 the Government of Canada (GOC) acquired the 3500 Carling Avenue Site adding approximately 250,229 total gross square meters (sm) of office space to PWGSC’s portfolio. The site is currently occupied by twelve interconnected buildings, associated parking lots and parkade structure, a maintenance compound for landscaping equipment and vehicles, the Ottawa-Carleton Wildlife Centre, the Pioneer House, recreational fields, forested lands, ponds and wetlands. The land comprises approximately 150 ha, of which 28 ha are owned by PWGSC and the remainder are leased from the National Capital Commission (NCC).
 
In support of the Business Management Plan for the Carling Campus site, the requirement to undertake various repairs in the parkade has been identified.  Based on site investigations and recent building audits, the floor topping membrane and expansion joints have degraded, the glycol ramp heating system has not been functional of late.  Additionally, various light fixtures are not working.  Some screening around the perimeter of the structure may also be in need of replacement.
