GOC1246907-CT-LUS - Contractor - Urgent Replace Main Water Supply Line

Scope of Work
 
Work of this Contract comprises:
1. Erect hoarding and/or signage in areas affected by construction.
2. Create openings in walls for new piping installations (after-hours).
3. Arrange for fire alarm bypasses for hot-work activities (as required).
4. Contractor to install new domestic water piping and standpipe up to tie-in points.
5. Electrician to make all new fire alarm connections.
6. Plumbing contractor to relocate water meter, install backflow preventer and make
final connections to existing building water service and water main during afterhours
shutdown period. (Perform fire watch of basement during this period).
7. Fire protection contractor to provide new standpipe on existing 150 mm water
service from Station Street c/w new zone valve and flow switch, install new
backflow preventer and make final connections to existing main fire protection
service and standpipe during after-hours shutdown period. (Perform fire watch of
the entire building during this period).
8. Existing redundant domestic water and standpipe lines to be removed from the
site.
9. Perform potable water quality tests before bringing the system online;
10. Apply escutcheon plates over new pipe penetration and repair any damage to
walls.
11. Conduct backflow preventer testing and fire alarm verification.
12. Excavation of the street to remove existing underground water supply line and
valve.
13. Cap existing line and reinstate site as per existing.
14. Environmental Effects Evaluation Letter dated 02-27-2020 produced by GHD
outlines required mitigation measures for construction.
 
Work is located at the Government of Canada building, located at 11 Station Street, Belleville ON.
