Description

Remove and replace existing exterior emergency exit steel doors of all staircases (8 doors in total). Remove and replace existing door hardware to meet all codes and standards for emergency exit doors and ensure all fire precaution hardware is installed. Consultant to see the installation of higher quality doors with a higher gauge and stronger door construction that will be more durable. The consultant shall assess if the existing door frames shall be removed and replaced. All frames in good condition shall be sanded and repainted. Door clearances shall be reviewed if they comply with the latest National Building Code and provide recommendations where they do not comply. Identification of all doors shall also be part of the project.

Proponents are advised that there will be an OPTIONAL site visit to be held on the date and times specified above. A maximum of one representative of each Proponent, or its authorized representative, are permitted to attend the OPTIONAL site visit. Site visits will be conducted in small groups. Attendees will meet the BGIS Representative at BGIS Office Portage I&II, 50 Victoria, Gatineau. BGIS will contact all Bidders that register and confirm the site visit time in the case when there are multiple site visit times.
All individuals attending the site visit must bring their Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes/boots, safety vests, hard hats, safety glasses, etc. Individuals without the appropriate PPE will not be permitted to access the site.
COVID-19 Site Specific Safety Plans and social distancing must be adhered to. Masks must be worn for the duration of the site visit.

Additional Bidding Instructions

BGIS would like to bring your attention to the following section of the RFP Lite. There is a page count limit for the bid submission to this RFP. The limit of pages that will be evaluated for this project is 9 pages. Any bid response that exceeds the 9-page limit will only have the first 9 pages of the submission evaluated.
3.3.1. Proponents shall respond to the Mandatory and Rated Requirements outlined in Part 4 – Proposal Submission Requirements and present their Technical Proposal in the format specified and in compliance with the page count stated in table 4.9 “Total Page/Weight”. Information provided on pages beyond the stated limit will not be reviewed and evaluated. BGIS will count from the first page of the Proposal and will not review any pages that exceed the limit. Please note that cover pages and mandatory documents would be considered in the mandatory page count.
