Description

THIS PROCUREMENT HAS SECURITY REQUIREMENTS
The 3 humidifiers SH-1,2 & 4 corresponding to AHU-1, 2 & 4 respectively, have failed prematurely and require immediate replacement. Only one humidifier remains functional (SH-3 - it was replaced under project GOC326584 in 2015-2016). The failed units are packaged, non-condensing gas-fired units that are original to the building. In general, it is anticipated that the units are to be replaced with like-for-like, with consideration of the following:
-    Verify the existing units are sized to meet PSPC humidity requirements during winter conditions. As a note, the capacity of the existing units has not been an issue to date.
-    Consultant shall review and comment on the existing infrastructure, primarily the combustion air and vent sizing/configuration to determine if condensing humidifiers can be installed as a direct replacement, to reduce energy consumption and GHG emissions;
-   Consultant shall also review and comment on any apparent system deficiencies (water quality, piping/manifold configuration etc.) which may have contributed to the pre-mature failure of these units and recommend corrective action where required. The goal is to prevent pre-mature failure of the new units;
-    Replacement units shall be BACNet compatible and connected to the existing building DDC.

A maximum of one representative of each Bidder, or its authorized representative, are permitted to attend the OPTIONAL site visit. Attendees will meet the BGIS Representative at 80 Garland Ave, Dartmouth, NS. Site visits will be conducted in small groups.
Individuals without the appropriate PPE will not be permitted to access the site. COVID-19 Site Specific Safety Plans and social distancing must be adhered to. Masks must be worn for the duration of the site visit.
