Description

Scope of Work/Overview:
This facility has one hydraulic passenger elevator serving the two floors of the building, thereby providing full building accessibility. The elevator, installed in 1994 is operating reliably and safely but is nearly 30 years old and is still considered in its original state. Modernizing the equipment will bring the elevator up to new code requirements, including compliance with current CSA B651 Accessible Design for the Built Environment. Consultant to sample the hydaulic oil and provide analysis, report and recommendations. barrier-free standards. Study should identify replacement of the existing controller with newer microprocessor-based controls, replacement of power unit (pump, motor, valve & tank), replacement of door operators and door hardware, a new cab interior, new car & hall fixtures and a new jack unit with integrated PVC protection. Study also to address accessibility requirements.

Event Note

Respondents are advised that there will be an Optional site visit to be held on the date and times specified within the item 1.4 in the RFQ document. A maximum of one representative of each Respondent, or its authorized representative, are permitted to attend the Optional site visit. Attendees will meet the BGIS Representative at 86 Clarence Street, Kingston, ON. Site visits will be conducted in small groups. Respondents are advised that they must preregister via email to (Rajesh.Gupta@bgis.com) by (May 30th, 2025 @2:00pm) to be authorized to access the site. Failure to register may result in the Respondents representative being refused access to the site. BGIS will contact all Respondents that register and confirm the site visit time in the case when there are multiple site visit times.
Respondents are only required to attend one scheduled site visit to be eligible to bid.

All individuals attending the site visit must bring their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: safety shoes/boots, safety vests, hard hats, safety glasses. Individuals without the appropriate PPE will not be permitted to access the site.
