Brookfield GIS Workplace Solutions Inc. (“WSI”) invites submission for Contractor Qualification of Mechanical Contractors acting as Prime Contractor to perform the Work required to complete the Boiler Upgrades at the Courthouse located at 222 Main Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, with a preliminary project estimate value of $1,500,000.
The purpose of this Request for Qualification is to select Qualified Contractors for an Invitation to Bid for the following Work:
The existing boilers are located in two separate boiler rooms, one located on Level 5 and the other on Level 6 penthouse. The two existing boiler systems operate independently. The intent of this project is to replace all existing boilers with new high efficiency condensing boilers and to house them in a single consolidated boiler plant in Level 6 mechanical penthouse room. The scope of work will generally include:
- Removal of existing boilers, redundant heating pumps and piping.
- Provision of new boilers, pumps, piping, insulation etc. for the combined heating system.
- Installation of new heating hot water supply and return lines between the two existing boiler rooms to interconnect the two heating systems.
- Provision of new controls for the boilers and pumps. These controls will be interfaced with the existing Building Management System.
- Provision of electrical power for the new boilers and pumps.
The Project comprises primarily Mechanical system upgrades complete with the related Electrical, Architectural, Structural, and Technology disciplines. The Vancouver Courts operations must be maintained throughout the construction process, and the target construction period will be during the summer months.

The Site Superintendent will be responsible for all work schedules, direct access arrangements with Paladin Security, and providing weekly status updates and projections of work and location of work for the following week for distribution to all.
The Invitation to Bid package will be issued to the Qualified Contractors within two (2) to four (4) weeks of close of the RFQ.
The proposed construction schedule is as follows:
