Scope of Work/Overview:
The intent of this project is to replace the exterior siding / envelope of the detachment with new siding inclusive of all flashings and trims that are durable, cost effective, can withstand outdoor elements, and has minimal maintenance requirements. Upon completion of existing siding removal, the condition of the existing substrate along with any air barriers or building wrap shall be inspected for any signs of deterioration and all the necessary repairs shall be provided to the structure prior to any new siding install. Accessory lighting, utility power connections, and outlets to also be replaced/refurbished as required. Additionally, the consultant is to conduct a review of each window throughout the building to determine their condition and to evaluate the need for replacement. If window replacement is deemed necessary, the old window(s) will be removed and replaced with new high performance, energy efficient units that meet or exceed NECB perspective standards. Coordinate with RCMP on which new windows are to be operable. These new units will include all new pre-finished metal flashing and are to be completely sealed properly with sufficient spray foam insulation. The rough openings will be appropriately treated, and all interior jambs, sills and heads will be repaired to match the existing conditions as required plus any existing window blinds or treatments will be carefully removed, preserved, and reinstalled upon completion of new window install.
Ensure compliance with Client's requirements. Any impact to RCMP Operations during construction need to be reviewed by RCMP Detachment Commander, RCMP MB Asset Management, and BGIS Property Management prior to starting.
