Scope of Work/Overview:
The intent of this project is ensure CBSA Del Bonita and Cartwright Port of Entry (POEs) have fully functional septic system (includes septic tank + septic field) to accommodate the needs of travelers and Port Officers. The project would need to review/evaluate the existing septic system to determine where the deficiencies are, create a scope of work to address and complete the required repairs. The current system is not functioning as expected and there is potential for future failures. It is believed that some of the septic lines have deteriorated, and the septic tank could be leaking. Once the old tank has been dug out and disposed of, the ground may require remediation if any of the effluent has leaked over time. New pump(s) should be part of the replacement as well.
Consultant to advise if design approach to install a new system prior to decommissioning of old system will be the MVP/best value to Canada.
Construct new holding tank and septic field, excavate to expose existing piping into the old septic tank and switching the piping into new system prior to decommissioning of old holding tank and septic field. Consultant to complete the soil testing to determine if there is any ground contamination. Conduct soil testing, topo survey and utility locates where required and submit Designated substance survey report per site prior to design/tender. Include cost for winter investigation as required.
