Scope of Work/Overview: The tenant has requested the installation of a new door within an existing wall opening. The existing opening is narrow and while a door was previously installed, the reason for its removal is unknown. Supply and install one (1) 3’ x 7’ steel door with a 14-gauge frame and 16-gauge door in accordance with RCMP specifications. All door hardware shall conform to the specifications list which will be supplied during design phase. Components JBI, JB3, JB4, and JB6 will be installed by the contractor but terminated by others. The door and frame shall be painted to match the existing finish.
Door and frame materials/NRP hinges, door bottoms, kickplates, etc will be supplied by the General Contractor. Other hardware (ie. Electrified F15 Mortise lockset (Schlage L9492)/LCN 4040XP Door Closer/Abloy EA 280 or Securitron EPT/ Door viewer DS1000 will be supplied by the RCMP PTSS. Specific details and coordination requirements will be reviewed and finalized during the design phase in consultation with RCMP PTSS.
Associated electrical work is required for system connections. The contractor shall provide all necessary equipment and labor to complete asbestos abatement in compliance with Type 3 abatement procedures. Work shall include:
Establishment of full containment in the abatement area including negative air setup, chambers, and DOP testing of negative air units (as venting to the exterior is not permitted). Removal of the existing door frame from the block wall and removal of vermiculite insulation from the block wall cavity. Complete HEPA vacuum cleaning of the containment area along with an application of an approved encapsulant within the containment area. Completion of required air testing and verification of results. DOP testing of negative air machines to be performed by the abatement contractor.
All asbestos-containing and hazardous waste shall be properly packaged, labeled, and transported to the approved disposal site in Yellowknife, NT. The contractor shall coordinate with the local landfill to arrange acceptance of asbestos materials for disposal.
