Description

The Louis St-Laurent Building is an office building formerly occupied by DND until a fire on April 21st, 2016 rendered the building unstable and unsafe for occupation. Along with water and smoke damage a portion of the roof collapsed leaving the building exposed to the environment.

The Stabilization Phase of the project is expected to be completed by March 31, 2017. The Repair and Restoration and decontamination Phase of the project is scheduled to be initiated in March 2017 with a transition phase from Stabilization to Repairs and Restorations.

The services of a Prime Consultant (PC), who shall be licensed to practice in the Province of Quebec, is required to provide professional consulting services to investigate, design, prepare contract documents and supervise the repair and restoration of the Red Zone Designation within the Louis St-Laurent Building which has been impacted by the Fire and subsequent weather elements.

Respondents must attend a mandatory site visit to be held on the date specified within section 5.1 of this RFP. Respondents will meet the Brookfield GIS Project Manager at the Brookfield GIS Construction trailer at the rear of the Louis St. Laurent Building at 555 De La Carrière Blvd. Gatineau, QC.
Attendees must pre-register for the site visit through the completion and submission of the form found in Section C, the form must be submitted prior to the date specified within section 5.1 of this RFP. Confirmed registrants will be notified of a date and time prior to the site visit for a Fit-Test, you must bring your own mask P-100. Brookfield GIS will supply the protective suit.
All individuals attending the site visit must bring their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as: safety shoes/boots, safety vests, hard hats, safety glasses and half breathing mask type P-100 with your certified fit test. Individuals without the appropriate PPE will not be permitted to access the site.
