Scope of Work/Overview:
Objective:
1) Make this freezer system align with the Federal Government Greening policies. Low GWP (global warming potential) refrigerant to be used.
2) Operate at new lower temperature of -20 deg. C.
Additional Description:

Design freezer system to run at -20 Celsius. (existing system is currently running at -16 Celsius) In order to align with the Federal Government Greening policies, newer low temperature and low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerant is to be used. Design control system to allow a lead lag operation of both separate freezer systems. 24hrs on, 24hrs off for both systems. Power must be run to the freezer system and evaporator. Drainage from the evaporator must be tied into the existing drainage. Heat trace tape to be installed as part of the overall installation to prevent drainage water from freezing. EEV (Electronic Expansion Valve) will be installed as the metering device & pump down control (to mitigate solenoid issues, the current system is showing that this is an issue). RCMP to be presented with the option of a single Hermetic Compressor, and scroll compressor options.
-Add redundant secondary freezer compressor/evaporator. Consultant to verify size calculation and cooling capacity.
-One suggested model of compressor is Keeprite Tonnage 15.902 (75HP), 575V, Model # KESA075L6-HT5B-24576, Serial # 172104801
-Existing freezer: Refrigerant and/or condensor or other equipment/components to be reviewed, refrigerant replaced with low GHG potential, and any other required components to maintain compatibility with new coolant and cooler operating temperature of -20 deg. C, to be replaced.
-Consultant to do comprehensive site investigation to determine full as-built condition.
-Current freezer is in main floor, Rm. 114. (Exact configuration to be determined based on investigation by consultant.)
-During this project LTES exhibits to be temporary moved to the DNA Repository freezer at HQ.
