GOC372845-CS - Replace Interior Door Hardware

Replace or Upgrade Interior Door Hardware due to an accessibility report done in 2008.
It is important to note this report was 2008, which was surveyed in 2007. All three codes, Accessibility for the built environment, Ontario Building Code and National Building code have made major changes with respect to accessibility standards. The standard B651 has been updated three times since this report was produced. It was reviewed under the 2004 version. The Current standard is B651-12. Changes may have occurred over the years, which could have improved or worsen existing conditions. Consultant to re-verify recommendations in report and update to most current accessibility standards. Consultant to prepare IAR with three (3) options for review and approval of one option by PSPC. Once approved consultant is to prepare drawings (33%, 66% 99% and tender package with Class A cost estimate) complete with NMS Specification.
The doors that are character-defining elements are: Sussex Pavilion (tower A)
Ground Floor: Entry Doors, Frame and Hardware on the front (north Façade)
Second and Third Floor: Whitton Hall Doors, Frames and Hardware (wood doors that enter the former council chamber)Former Mayor’s door (east of Whitton Hall)
The other doors have not been identified as character-defining elements, but any of the door upgrades need to be compatible with the existing design. The hardware will need to be in keeping with the existing hardware, but it doesn’t require a reproduction.
