Description

Contractor is required to supply and install new waste and recycling compactors and associated components as described in the plans and speifications provided by the consultant.

Building 7 is presently equipped with 4 compactors manufactured by Universal Handling. Contractor is responsible to remove and dispose of the existing equipment.

All equipment supplied to have an expected life-cycle of at least 20 years. Equipment shall be
custom designed-built to suit existing site installation/conditions. Provide Two Stationary Compactors each with 41 cubic yds. containers (one for Cardboard &One for Paper) rear loading for exterior use c/w with all ancillary equipment required for fully operational systems, including power units, remote operating panels, hydraulic hoses, guide islands weather tight enclosures and safety interlocks and devices. Provide One Self-Contained Compactor (Garbage) with 35 cubic yd. integrated container rear
loading for exterior use c/w all ancillary equipment required for a fully operational system, including
power units, remote operating panel, hydraulic hoses, guide islands, weather tight enclosure and safety interlocks and devices. Provide One Dock Cart Dumper –Hydraulic Stationary Dock Level Mounted 4 Position with associated recycling container with 4 individualized compartments for exterior use c/w power unit and integrated operating panel, bin lifting frame coordinated to line up with 4 compartment covered R/O, with power unit weather cover, hydraulic hoses, recycling containers and safety interlocks and devices. New Dock Cart Dumper to be re-installed in same location as existing. Responsibility includes design, fabrication, transportation, erection, commissioning and
demonstration of equipment.

Each firm will be limited to a maximum allocation of two attendees for this showing. Minimum Reliability is required to access the construction site. Escorting of un-cleared personnel is NOT permitted.

Firms failing to pre-register within the stipulated time frame may not be granted access to the site on the date of the job showing and therefore not able to submit a compliant bid.

Respondents who have pre-registered may attend a mandatory site meeting. Respondents are to meet Miguel Valiquette (613-889-5309) at the Building 7 (Ellis Don) Security trailer (East side of the campus) at the Carling Campus, 3500 Carling Avenue Ottawa Ontario. Bidders will require government issued photo ID to sign in with security and to sign the mandatory Site Visit Attendance Sheet.

Only pre-registered personnel will be granted access.
The following PPE must be worn to attend the job showing:
1. Hard hat
2. Safety glasses
3. 6 inch high steal toe boots ( Green triangle tag)
4. High visibility safety vest
5. Long pants and sleaved shirt no dresses/shorts
6. No cut off shirts
