Over the years, openings in the stairwells of Portage I have been performed to allow access to the plumbing system in washrooms. This project is recommended to study the structural impact of all these openings as well as to ensure that they do not affect the fire rated off the staircase, doors and hatches or if they do; make recommendations on what needs to be done to alleviate the situation and be up to fire and life safety codes.
