The intention of this project is to complete an Arc Flash and Short Circuit Study. This project stems from a BCR recommendation. An Arc Flash occurs when electricity suddenly arcs through the air between two conductors, thus creating a potential workplace hazard. The study is conducted to analyze the potential of this type of occurrence in relation to the electrical equipment in a given building, with the overall objective of greatly reducing the probability of this type of occurrence. Arc Flash labeling of equipment will be completed. A short circuit study will provide the required information to determine if the interrupting capacities of the protective devices are adequate enough to protect power systems. Full investigation of electrical panels associated will be completed. Study should identify all potential risks.
