DST consulting Engineer was retained by PWGSC for the purposes of completing the mould spore trap sampling and analysis at Harry Stevens building. The bio-diversity of the indoor air sample was found to be slightly different to the bio-diversity of the outdoor air sample, indicating a potential source of indoor mould amplification in the basement of the building. DST completed a follow-up visual assessment of the basement area in an effort to identify a potential source of mould/moisture that may be contributing to mould amplification, but on the result, no visible mould/moisture was identified. DST recommended an intrusive mould and moisture assessment. Identify potential concealed sources of mould and moisture in the basement area. If mould has been identified, further project scope is abatement of mould, repair the source of moisture intrusion, and conduct final testing of air sample of mould.
