GOC332963 – Seismic Assessment of Building Equipment – Douglas Jung Building
The Scope of work is a pre‐design level engineering assessment to provide construction estimates. Requires a Geotechnical Assessment ‐ quantitative assessment of the soil conditions, Comprehensive OFC Screening & Pre‐Design ‐ cataloguing all building content items and assigning a quantitative risk assessment, Base Building Pre‐Design ‐ complete structural analysis of the lateral force resisting system.
To ensure all life safety and building operational equipment maintains its seismic adequacies and compliant to code. To ensure mechanical/electrical equipment, packaged units and structural supports will remain intact and remain its integrity from collapsing or breaking away in the event of an earthquake. A seismic assessment is required to determine the necessary upgrades. The greatest benefit to this approach is that all liabilities associated with seismic hazards vis a vis the building code will be known.

The Scope of work is a pre‐design level engineering assessment to provide construction estimates. Requires a Geotechnical Assessment ‐ quantitative assessment of the soil conditions, Comprehensive OFC Screening & Pre‐Design ‐ cataloguing all building content items and assigning a quantitative risk assessment, Base Building Pre‐Design ‐ complete structural analysis of the lateral force resisting system.
The recommended strategy is to conduct a thorough, contemporary seismic assessment of the building, including structural and non‐structural items, and then to implement a best value project arising out of that assessment in order to prevent possible damage to the structure in the event of an earthquake.
Floor plans and equipment data will be provided to the successful consultant. Consultant to verify information on Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) database and update as required.
The consultant must prepare an assessment for each project number.
