There were a total of 14 x 175 Watt wall packs around the exterior of the building and 2 x 400 Watt floodlights in the parking area. These can be changed to LED for electricity and maintenance savings. The recommendation is to install LED floodlights to replace the wallpacks. The building floodlights can be retrofit with 70 W. The 2 larger parking lot floodlights can be retrofit with larger models around 233 W. A high quality LED fixture capable of withstanding -40C temperature should be chosen.
Current approved plan is to replace Fixtures with Energy Efficient Units, Re-configure Fixtures on Emergency Power, and Provide Additional Lighting at Some Exits.
This option is to replace the existing fixtures with new energy efficient (LED) fixtures. The two existing quartz light fixtures that are on emergency power will be replaced with LED fixtures. The controls for these two fixtures will be removed so that they function both on normal power and emergency power. The two pole mounted fixtures in the parking lot will be replaced with units that reflect the light downwards and not horizontally. Photo sensors and relays will be replaced with new. The contractor shall be required to aim the light fixtures and take measurements in the parking lot and document on the record drawings. Electrical panel legends will be updated.
New fixtures will be rated to ‐40C. LED light fixtures have an expected service life of 100,000 hours or approximately 25 years.
This option includes the addition of light fixtures at employee entrances (where none currently exist).
The risks associated with this option are minimal. However, there may be unknown wiring that is in poor condition and will need replacing. This potential for this risk is considered moderate.
Most of this work can be done during business hours, but some areas will have to be accessed after hours. This work can be done at any time of the year. RCMP Facility Access 2 or higher security clearance is required to bid on this work.
