PWG303718 - HPB-Elevator Repairs

The intent of this project is to implement the required upgrades to the building elevators. The upgrades are mandated within the governing CAN/CSA B44-07 Safety Code for Elevators in the Health Protection Building as indicated by the funding stream of the Accelerated Infrastructure Program for 2015. In conjunction with ensuring code compliance as part of Brookfield’s due diligence this project will assist this asset to be ready for the acceptance of the new tenants in 2017.
 
The mandated improvements will include the installation of the top of car railing, fused disconnects and car door restrictors.  These improvements will in turn address some of the health and safety issues that both passengers and elevator mechanics are exposed to due to these current deficiencies. The upgrades will ultimately help to improve the overall performance of the elevators.
