PWG304080-1 - Fire Protection

Contractor is required to replace the existing fire department connection to the building, which is connected to the fire protection system in the basement of the building and serves the sprinkler system in the event of a fire emergency. Project drawings and specifications detail the construction deliverables required under this work . Project work description includes but is not limited to the following items.

• Cutting and capping the existing fire department connection piping and removing the portion that will no longer be used.
• Digging up the existing fire department post for removal, and capping the opening in the concrete where the piping currently exists the building.
• Coring of a new connection exit location to suit the required buried distance.
• Digging of a trench along the exterior length of Building 2 from the existing fire department location to the proposed new location.
• Installing new schedule 40 black steel piping with welded joints inside the newly dug trench.
• Installing a new fire department connection and post, proper bracing, and connecting to the new piping layout.
