GOC1498948-CT - Renovate and Relocate Flag pole

Replace and Relocate in the Center of the Roof with tilting shoe base pole. The new pole needs shall be in aluminum to be used with the required tilting shoe base. The tilting shoe base however must be installed on a flat surface; hence the existing location of the flagpole shall be overlooked. We must first remove the existing flagpole demolishing the existing pole support structure, patch and repair the wall with similar materials. The new pole location will be situated in the center of the roof and shall tilt in the middle toward the south edge of the roof. The top of the pole once tilted shall not overhang of the leading edge it shall remain inside the roof; better yet within the safe working zones.  The new flag pole will be secured to the building's flat roof with a fixed shoe base. The penthouse's flat roof is composed of a steel deck covered with approximately three inches of gravel. A new concrete slab will be constructed on the steel deck and will be supported on the open web steel joist that currently support the roof assembly. The tilting shoe base will be anchored to the new concrete pad. The flag pole will be secured to the shoe base by welding as per the manufacturer's instructions.
