GOC2582625 - CS - Card Access System Replacement-CS

a) The intent of the project is installing a new card access system for the building. The new system will be for base building only but should have capacity to connect tenants systems to it.
b) Currently the card access system is aging and different card readers are failing continuously and we cannot predict what door will fail next. This has affected stairwell doors, doors to bathrooms, as well as an exterior door.                                                                                                                                          c) Impact to the current situation is at any time access to any door can stop working and we cannot predict what door that will be                                                                                                                      d) Scope of work is to replace the entire card access system, install new card readers to base building, and have ports available for Tenants for the option for them to have building card reader access to their space at their expense.
The consultant must be registered and in good standing with The Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists (NAPEG) and with The Workers' Safety and Compensation Commission (WSCC) of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
The preference is for the consultant to have a local presence, including having an office in Yellowknife, NWT.
A consultant representative who possesses the required security clearance as indicated in the Professional Service RFP must perform site visits. This includes but is not limited to: 1 visit at the beginning of the design stage, to collect all information/requirements for design initiation and development; 1 site inspection at 50% construction progress; and 1 visit for the substantial walkthrough.
