Description

Elevator maintenance products are generating odors in the elevator lobbies throughout the complex. Indoor air quality (IAQ) testing was conducted to determine the concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOC) in some elevator lobbies. The results from this IAQ testing reveal that heavy paraffinic hydrocarbons were detected in various elevator lobbies. The report recommends that the heavy paraffinic hydrocarbons are linked to lubricants used for elevators. This project consists of investigating the cause of the presence of VOC in elevator lobbies and provide recommendations to reduce the concentration. The investigation shall require a site visit to review the related building systems, including but not limited to, the ventilation systems and elevator systems. The scope of this project shall apply to all the elevators in the Les Terrasses de la Chaudière (LTLDC) complex – 1 Place du Portage, 10 Wellington and 15/25 Eddy.     Proponents are advised that there will be an OPTIONAL site visit to be held on the date and times specified above. A maximum of one representative of each Proponent, or its authorized representative, are permitted to attend the OPTIONAL site visit. Site visits will be conducted in small groups. Attendees will meet the BGIS Representative at Les Terrasses de la Chaudière. BGIS will contact all Bidders that register and confirm the site visit time in the case when there are multiple site visit times.
     
    All individuals attending the site visit must bring their Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes/boots, safety vests, hard hats, safety glasses, etc. Individuals without the appropriate PPE will not be permitted to access the site.
     
    COVID-19 Site Specific Safety Plans and social distancing must be adhered to. Masks must be worn for the duration of the site visit.

BGIS would like to bring your attention to the following section of the RFP Lite. There is a page count limit for the bid submission to this RFP. The limit of pages that will be evaluated for this project is 9 pages. Any bid response that exceeds the 9-page limit will only have the first 9 pages of the submission evaluated.
3.3.1. Proponents shall respond to the Mandatory and Rated Requirements outlined in Part 4 – Proposal Submission Requirements and present their Technical Proposal in the format specified and in compliance with the page count stated in table 4.9 “Total Page/Weight”. Information provided on pages beyond the stated limit will not be reviewed and evaluated. BGIS will count from the first page of the Proposal and will not review any pages that exceed the limit. Please note that cover pages and mandatory documents would be considered in the mandatory page count.
