GOC388809 - Consulting - Intrusion Alarm System

The intent of the project is to evaluate the current security monitor infrastructure and determine its effectiveness at providing comprehensive coverage for the building. Moreover, to provide the site with an intrusion alarm system that can detect and initiate an effective response to any attempt to breach the building. The new system will allow the effective monitoring of the envelope of the building, such as doors, windows, overhead doors and roof access. If possible the system would also integrate with the other security system such as CCTV and access control. From data that I can locate within the building, the system is circa 1998 and completed by ADT, with updates to the peripherals throughout until 2014. There is a 160 gig hard drive digital disk recorder (Panasonic WJ-HD220), a colour video monitor (Elmo 2103 X), and 3 control pads (Tyco Focus 200 Plus). The monitor was purchased in 2006 and the control pads in 2014. At this time, I dont have any information on age of the operating system or what version it is, nor do I know the age of the digital video recorder. I would assume that the door and window contacts are all original to the first installation date. The security system is tied into the fire alarm system but not the card reader system. At this point, there is no requirement that I am aware of that it would need to be combined. Due to the age of the system, the door and window contacts are highly sensitive and create numerous false alarms. The building footprint is changing with an extension to the mechanical room that is currently being constructed. This new space will not be part of the existing security system when completed. A brief scope of work would be to evaluate the facility for possible gaps in the existing system and provide installation of a new, all-encompassing perimeter security system. The current infrastructure would need to be decommissioned and removed. New peripherals would be installed and the entire system commissioned.
