CRA is undertaking a series of security modernization projects across Canada to bring their systems into compliance with their latest standards. This project is tasked with upgrading the CRA spaces within the CRA offices located at 1955 Smith Street, Regina, Saskatchewan. The basis of this project is to work hand in hand with Chubb Edwards who has been contracted directly by CRA to provide the building infrastructure needed to install their end devices. The scope also includes for determining a suitable swipe to call system for the base building elevators that will be compatible with the CRA spaces. Lastly, the base building system will be handed back to BGIS to maintain. This project will therefore need to recertify the system to ensure that it is in working order.
Below is a brief overview of the scope of work and assumptions/constraints.
1. Provision of conduit with wire or just wire to the location of the security end devices. (Provision of conduit with wire outside of the CRA spaces, in the CRA spaces the wire will be free run to the location of the security end devices.)
2. Design to confirm if card systems for the CRA space and base building will be compatible following the CRA space upgrade.
3. Installation of swipe to call card readers on the elevator lobby side that are compatible with the CRA card readers to ensure the employees only need to carry one card.
4. To replace existing - where needed, remove redundant, and install new intrusion components for external intrusion monitoring via ADSL line This may include for a second intrusion panel to monitor the CRA space. A technician will be required to confirm if any intrusion components are shared between base building and CRA.
5. Old cabling to devices in CRA spaces to be removed back to the originating point.
6. Decommissioning of old devices.
7. Doors noted on the plans that note "new card reader" will require modification to the frames to accommodate the new electric strikes.
8. BGIS hired consultants/contractors to work with Chubb for the design and construction requirements.
